Dr Carroccio, a nationally recognized board certified vascular surgeon, joined the Lenox Hill Hospital Heart and Vascular Institute as the director of vascular surgery training. Dr. Carroccio's specialty is vascular and endovascular surgery, in particular, complex endovascular aortic aneurysm repair and hybrid aortic reconstructions. He is also well known for minimally invasive vascular procedures of the carotid, abdominal, and extremity circulation.
Dr. Carroccio earned his medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He completed his general and vascular surgery residencies at the Mount Sinai Medical Center, where he remained on the faculty of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine with appointments in the Division of Vascular Surgery and the Division of Interventional Radiology. As the Associate Chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery, he was the principle and co-investigator of numerous trials of stent grafts for the minimally invasive treatment of abdominal and thoracic aortic aneurysms.
Dr Carroccio has authored numerous articles for scholarly and professional publications, written book chapters, and delivered presentations to professional audiences worldwide. He has received numerous awards in recognition of his contribution to resident and fellow education. Dr. Carroccio established national training programs for physicians interested in the treatment of complex endovascular aortic repair.
