About Dr. Yang
Dr. Yang graduated from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and completed both his internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. He came to Lenox Hill Hospital in 2003 as an interventional fellow and in 2004, after the fellowship, he joined the faculty of Interventional Cardiac and Vascular Services at Lenox Hill Hospital.
Dr. Yang quickly distinguished himself as an outstanding clinician and productive investigator, performing a remarkable volume of complex procedures with low complication rates while publishing four papers in two years in leading journals as either author or co-author. Benefiting from working with some of the leaders and pioneers in the field during his training, Dr. Yang boasts a wide range of expertise in interventional cardiology and endovascular therapy: complex coronary intervention; peripheral vascular disease treatments including renal, carotid, upper and lower extremity angioplasty, stent, and atherectomy; and balloon valvuloplasty for mitral or aortic disease.
Born and raised in mainland China before coming to the United States, Dr. Yang is fluent in Chinese and intimately familiar with the Chinese culture. He has volunteered as a consulting cardiologist at the Charles B. Wang Chinatown Health Clinic and is keenly aware of the medical issues and needs of the Chinese population. Dr. Yang strives to make his medical knowledge and clinical skill available to all the Chinese patients seeking world-class care in the area of cardiac and vascular diseases.
