He was co-principal investigator in the NHLBI-sponsored EAST study and was the lead U.S. PTCA operator in the NHLBI-sponsored BARI trial, both comparing PCI and bypass surgery in patients with multivessel disease. Currently, he is the Co-Principal Investigator of the NIH/CREST Study comparing stenting and surgery for carotid artery disease.

He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians, the Council on Clinical Cardiology of the American Heart Association, the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Intervention, the Society for Vascular Medicine and Biology, the International Society of Endovascular Specialists, Society of Interventional Radiology and the newly formed International Society for Vascular Surgery.

Dr. Roubin has published more than 160 papers and 200 abstracts in peer review journals. He has edited two textbooks on interventional cardiovascular medicine, coronary, and carotid artery stenting as well as contributions to 15 textbooks on interventional cardiology. He lectures extensively in the United States and abroad and has received numerous awards for his notable contributions to cardiac care.
